Colombo’s Family Restaurant has been a home away from home to the people of Balwyn since 1969. Situated on the iconic Whitehorse Road and owned and run by 5 brothers, Colombo’s has a warmth and feeling of family that can only come from the real thing. Arriving in Australia in 1970, the Kurban boys took their mother's love of cooking and their fathers business sense and turned it into an award winning combination of fun, food and family. Each brother has a key role within the organisation and it is this mix of trust and knowledge which is a proven key to their success. Colombo’s has the reputation of being the only licensed restaurant in Balwyn, and is one of only a few restaurants in Melbourne whose kitchen remains open from 11am to late. Diners are welcome all day every day to choose from pizza, pasta, seafood, steak, or simply good coffee and cake. With such a strong family focus it is no surprise that Fundraising is a key aspect of the Colombo’s way. Proudly supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital appeal for over 20 years, by providing meal deals to local schools and businesses, we have generated over $50,000 in donations. We have also supported the Black Saturday Fund Raising by donating a day’s profits to a local fire station to purchase new equipment. These are just a sample of the way The Kurban Family gives back to the community that has given so much to them. It gives the Kurban’s great joy to see your families grow before their eyes. Parents who once brought their children through the doors of Colombo’s, now bring their grandchildren too. Calling Balwyn home since 1986, The Kurban’s know what makes Balwyn so special to so many, and invite you to make their family, part of yours. |
